Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of Essential Oils via inhalation and topical application.

Essential Oils are the purest derivatives of plants and can be extremely powerful and need only be used in very small quantities .

Our sense of smell is a powerful mood adjustor.

Common scents like Lavender and Chamomile, as well as lesser known oils such as Palmarosa and Ylang Ylang are calming to the mind, and also nourish and heal the skin.

Conversely, scents like Peppermint and Rosemary, as well as Marjoram and Lemongrass, uplift the mind and relieve pain in the body.

With over 50 plant oils to choose from,

I work with my clients to choose & blend oils to balance mind and body.

Your Custom Blend can then be added to lotion, bath oils, inhalers, jewelry body/linen sprays and perfumes.

Aromatherapy, its the...B.O.M.

June-July-August :

Summer and the Fire Element

coming soon.

March-April-May

Spring and the Wood Element,

... a time of longer days, sprouting energy, thinking, when winds of life require flexibility. For some this time of year can feel like taking off of a runway; for others a slower moving forward.

For Spring's blend I've chosen oils to clear and inspire thought, based in security of strong roots holding us agains life's wind, while encouraging growth and flexibility.

possible... spring tells us that even the impossible is possible

It's all POSBL... in Spring

Petigrain - Orange leaf unrolling after the blooms, like our body after winter, petigrain eases tense breathing and stiff joints , promotes clear thinking and optimism while being one of the best essential oils for anxiety - spring's untamable energy.

Opopanax- from Ethiopia, deeply resinous, used in perfumes since biblical times, it is wonderfully grounding while offering a healthful drying effect to lung mucus so often present in spring time allergies.

Spearmint - the sweeter version of peppermint reminds us of the Summer's sweetness to come, while uplifting and rejuvenating slow starters. Helps with respiratory congestion also present with spring allergies .

Bergamot - cousin to Petigrain, a touch of this earthy orange rind oil adds a smoothness to anxiety and depression, binding the entire blend.

Lavender - a late spring bloom that cheers the sense of sight and optimism.

December-January-February

Winter and the Water Element,

... a time of quiet darkness, fear, incubation and creativity germinating before spring's brightness. It is also a time of holidays, of gathering, of inclusion and aloneness.

So I've chosen 3 loving oils to create 'Joyful Belonging" , to bring grounding strength, a touch of brightness to dark days laced with euphoria.

Vetiver - deeply earthy as winter goes underground to incubate.

Neroli- from the orange blossom flower, to remind us of coming joy and light.

Jasmine - to warm our hearts with belonging, wether alone or together.

October - November

Fall and the Metal Element:

... a time of courage & letting go,

...a time of inward nourishment, earth & soul.

Ravinstara: (Madagascar)

Let go of your aches and pains, stress and anxiety. Ravinstata supports respiratory congestion, muscle aches, immune system,

calming yet uplifting as it reduces stress and anxiety while positively supporting mild depression and mental fog.

Rose ( Morocco)

Physically supports infection, coughs an soar throats, feeling over heated, while best known for its powerful skin tonic qualities nourishing dry, mature, sensitive skin.

Subtle uses, rose has long promoted love, compassion, hope and patience. And more subtle helps to heal emotional wounds, especially grief, making it a go-to for Fall and the Metal element's message of the courage required during this time of letting go.

Jasmine:

prized for its sumptuous, intoxicating aroma and euphoric properties, jasmine has long been linked with helping stress and mild depression. I've added this to the blend to smooth the rough edges of grief and courage of going within oneself, a touch of euphoric to support the forward path as you leave the past behind.

September - October

Late Summer and the Earth Element

This month we celebrate and support the Earth Element and all her traits with a harvest season blend to keep you going, steady and and inspired.

Sweet Spearmint :

The perfect Back to School Oil for the whole family! Combats mental fatigue. Relieves respiratory congestion, muscle aches, headaches and is calming to the CNS, reducing stress and anxiety. (as opposed to peppermint which is a CNS stimulant) ...

Opopanax: {O-po-pan-ax }

From Ethiopia, its deeply earthy aroma grounds the heart and mind, and is the perfect compliment to balance the sweetness of this blend. Muscle relaxing properties also compliment Spearmints muscle-ache relief while complimenting orange's happy affect with its own stress and anxiety reducing qualities. If that is not enough, Opopanax completes the season with it's drying effect on lungs (clearing damp) from back to school germs. Spearmint helps with breathing. Opopanax clears the fluid.

Sweet Orange - a Harvest for Happy Hearts and minds.

Earthy and drying to damp

Sweet Spearmint's gentle Mental Pick me up while keep the central nervous system This blend brings together the Earth Element's attributes of Sweet harvest above and the grounding of below
